Cutters Cigar Lounge is very elegant and sophisticated similar to their fine line of cigars. The setting is extremely comfortable in that they provide their guests with a nice place to relax and enjoy a good smoke & conversation.

Whisk(e)y-wise, they tend to focus more on the American stuff with a large range of bourbons, ryes, and craft distillers including quite a few Willets, many High West Offerings, and even Anchor’s mighty trio of Old Potrero Ryes.

Housed in an old brick building that in past incarnations has been a Pony Express stable, a brothel, a customs house, a brothel, and most recently, an old brick building in need of seismic retro-fitting, The Stave looks like it will be combining old-world whisky tradition and contemporary SF locavore sensibilities.

A popular and now hotly debated business is burning out in downtown Charleston. One week ago the city decided it would not allow Club Habana to change locations. Now the city's only cigar bar, in all likelihood, is going out of business.

Almost all business returned to normal on Main Street following a May 16 water main break that tied up Manayunk. All business, save one cigar shop and lounge. Ashes Cigar Lounge announced on its Facebook page Tuesday that water damage from the busted water main will force it to renovate.

To celebrate their new location, Bar Louie will be hosting a series of opening promotions starting with a grand opening party of epic proportion on St. Patty's Day, March 17th. The all day long festivities will include live entertainment and $2 green beer.

A new World of Beer franchise will open on Mill Avenue in the old Tempe National Bank building this summer. WOB General Manager John Paul Watts, who will head up the new franchise, said the company believes Tempe to be a great location and will open a location July 23.

So, are there many decent bars in the world serving whisky that start with D? We’ve already found a few good pubs with A, B and C so there probably are – but is your favourite amongst them?

The real benefit, however, is the individualized humidor locker each member gets, complete with an engraved name plate: almost like a mahogany mini-fridge where members can keep their cigars and cigar collections. And, when members come in, they’re allowed to bring up to three guests with them to enjoy cigars in the lounge.

BL Restaurant Operations, LLC has announced the opening of three upcoming locations in Murfreesboro, Chattanooga, and Nashville, TN. These locations slated to open late spring will be the first Bar Louie locations in Tennessee, with a fourth location to open in Knoxville late summer 2012.

PUB landlords have voiced their fears for the trade if a rise in beer duty is announced in tomorrow’s budget as expected. The price of a pint will go up by between 5p and 10p if a duty increase of 7.2 per cent is implemented.

The Auld Alliance is a purpose-built Whisky Bar located at CHIJMES, a historical landmark in the heart of Singapore's city area restored and converted to house restaurants and bars and located diagonally across from Raffles Hotel and as fortune would have it, my digs at the Carlton.

Diners may soon enjoy a cigar after a bistro dinner now that plans are approved for a new cigar bar in the downtown. The City Council this week approved a Class C liquor license request to open the Secreto Bar and Bistro at 315-319 W. Nine Mile Road.

The building that used to house downtown nightclub 807 Fire and Ice will soon be a Cuban cigar bar.  Mandi Kaye, job coordinator with general contractors for the project Scenic City Enterprises, said Monday that the new business should be open within the next couple of months.

Charleston's only legal "cigar bar" is about to lose its lease. Trouble for nicotine fans is, it's in danger of losing its smoking exemption, too. Club Habana on Meeting Street has been the only bar in the city where smoking is permitted, largely because of its unique position above the Tinder Box tobacco store.
